This Meiji 14 (1881) edition of Shūshin Setsuyaku (修身説約) is an early moral education textbook, used in Meiji-era schools to teach ethics and personal conduct. It is illustrated with woodblock prints and serves as a valuable historical reference for Japan’s early modern education system.
Bound in traditional wahon format, the book measures 14 × 21.5 cm and consists of 25 leaves. It exhibits signs of age, including wormholes and general wear, but remains a rare and collectible example of Meiji-era educational materials.
