2000s Water Buffalo Horned Samurai Helmet – Children’s Day with Display Box
This 2000s Gogatsu Ningyo (May doll) features a suigyoku wakidate kabuto (water buffalo horned samurai helmet), crafted by the renowned Tadaharu maker, designed for celebrating Tango no Sekku (Children’s Day). The helmet symbolizes protection, bravery, and strength.
The decorative box measures approximately 27.5 cm in height, 38 cm in width, and 25 cm in height including the base. The set includes the helmet, display box, and original instructions.
While the helmet shows some wear, including a small detached gold component from the back horn (visible in the photos), it remains in generally good condition for its age. The detachment is not highly visible and does not detract from the helmet’s overall appeal.
This helmet is perfect for collectors of traditional Japanese cultural items or for those celebrating Children’s Day with authentic, vintage decor.
