This set of armor is a "kashi-guso" (貸し具足) for an ashigaru (foot soldier). During battles, ashigaru would receive armor from their lord and fight on the front lines. As such, this armor was designed for practicality, without unnecessary decoration. The beauty of "kashi-guso" lies in its functional design.
The do (torso armor) and sode (shoulder guards) are made of iron, while the jingasa (helmet) is constructed from wood.
Please note, the lacing of the sode has deteriorated due to age and has been re-laced for preservation.
