This 1 monme silver note was issued by the Oshi Domain in Musashi Province, present-day Saitama Prefecture, specifically near Goya City. It was issued during the Keio Era (1867-1868) and represents a rice deposit receipt, commonly used in the exchange of goods and services during the late Edo period.

The Oshi Domain, a fudai (hereditary) domain, was historically ruled by the Narita clan and was famous for its role in the Sengoku period. During the war, the domain's castle, where the Narita family resided, was the site of a famous siege with Ishida Mitsunari, known as the Battle of the Nobou Castle (depicted in "Nobou no Shiro").

This note is in good condition and serves as an important example of the financial systems used in these smaller feudal domains.
