This traditional Gogatsu Ningyo (May doll) samurai helmet display from the 1960s is a beautiful example of craftsmanship used to celebrate Tango no Sekku (Children's Day). The display showcases a finely detailed samurai helmet, symbolizing strength and protection, key themes of the festival.
The helmet measures approximately 44 cm in width, 26 cm in depth, and 42 cm in height. The case housing the helmet is about 47.5 cm in width, 36.5 cm in depth, and 33.5 cm in height.
This vintage display is in used condition with some signs of wear, consistent with its age. Despite minor marks and small damages, it remains a meaningful piece for those who appreciate traditional Japanese decorations or are seeking to celebrate Children’s Day.
