This hansatsu note comes from the Izushi Domain in Tajima Province (modern-day Hyogo Prefecture). Issued as a daimyo note, it is a silver-backed currency valued at 5 bu, commonly used for local trade. The note references Tajusho Izushi Silver Notes and features a Kyoho coin design, with the silver 5 bu denomination denoted by a red label (akazuri), which distinguishes it from other notes.

Izushi was a small but important domain, known for its production of silver and agricultural goods. The use of such notes helped manage trade and resources within the domain. The hansatsu system was widespread in Japan during the Edo period, allowing lords to issue currency backed by goods or precious metals for local circulation.

This note is in fair condition, showing typical signs of age and use. It provides a fascinating glimpse into the economy of the time and the role of hansatsu currency in Japan's feudal system.
